E-KWALITY RADIO is truly delighted to welcome Rennes-based artist KATELL with her SAUCE KATELL residency, which will showcase drum’n’bass sounds!
Raised on the rhythms of rock, jazz, and classical music, a dancefloor enthusiast, and electrified by her music, KATELL has been honing her style behind the decks for over 20 years. Blending breakbeat, electro, techno, and drum’n’bass, she’s a force of nature, performing in clubs, bars, festivals, and other unusual venues like Astropolis, Warehouse, Chauffer dans la Noirceur, DoXart, Cirque Electrique, Festif l’Art, and Zouav Fest.
A DJ, radio host, and highly active member of Open Fader and SiZe, she began her career in the bars and venues of Rennes early on. She created the Collectif sans Étiquette/Polisson, its aim is to promote thoughtfully organized evenings where genres, generations, schools, styles and senses mix, by inviting Dee Nasty, Le Lutin, Jack de Marseille, Crystal Distorsion, Hérétik and promoting various local artists…
KATELL is also vice-president of the Rencontres Alternatives festival in Rennes, featuring 4 stages, 100 DJs, and 13,000 attendees, and remains involved until its 10th edition. She then joined the team at La Vilaine Radio which broadcasts all musical styles 24/7, organizes Vilaine Parties, and produces shows and programs in partnership with events and festivals. The DJ co-organized Vahana records in Rennes with Elisa do Brasil and Bobby to launch the boss’s new DnB label in France. This was followed by TRANSGENDER Trans Off at L’Elaboratoire, where she invited 12 women from French sound systems to perform live sets: Ixindamix, Ccil Facom, Anne KGB, Mamzhell, Dyna, Soxy, Salomé DV, Nökta, and others. She was then contacted by Tsuggi for a mix broadcast as part of the Women in Electronic project.
Intoxicated by an unbridled bass and influenced by the UK scene, she performs in France, London, Belgium, and the Czech Republic, alongside Manu Le Malin, Dirtyphonics, Noisia, Dave the Drummer, Oxia, Interlope, Miss Tick… Sensitive and demanding in her mixes, she will take you on a journey and dare, why not, to sweep you off your feet!
